Living and raising our kids along the coast of Maine naturally comes with its own set of traditions. Every December, our family bundled up for the long drive to our tree covered land in Downeast Maine, where the air is crisp and filled with the scent of balsam.

What began as a simple family ritual — cutting greens and crafting wreaths together — quickly grew beyond our own front door. Soon, relatives in Massachusetts and Florida were asking for their own, and before long, friends of friends were hanging our wreaths as far away as California.

Now we’re proud to offer our wreaths nationwide, and we couldn’t be more grateful — or more excited — to share a bit of our Maine Christmas tradition with you. From our family to yours, may the fragrance of fresh balsam bring warmth, joy, and the spirit of the holidays into your home.

What comes with the Wreath?

Every wreath includes thoughtful extras to make your holiday season special:

  • Door Hanger – ready-to-display convenience
  • Coastal Balsam Bag – a fragrant touch of Maine indoors

  • Personalized Holiday Card
  • Hanging and care instructions

Your balsam wreath will stay fresh and fragrant for 4 to 6 weeks indoors and longer outdoors in cooler climates. To extend its life, keep it out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.

Each wreath is hand packed in a sturdy box and shipped directly from our family’s balsam barn. We carefully secure and wrap the wreath to preserve its shape, color, and fragrance during delivery.

To ensure that your fresh wreath lasts throughout the holiday season it is necessary to care for your product like any fresh floral product. Each product should be misted with water every other day to ensure long-lasting life. Care instructions are included with your balsam product.

Here are the care instructions for your reference.

  1. Wreath Care: Your fresh Maine wreath should be misted upon arrival.
  2. Aftercare; remove from the hanging surface and mist with water every other day to keep the boughs fresh and fragrant.
  3. It is suggested not to hang your fresh balsam product behind a storm door as the heat tends to dry out the fresh product.
  4. Note: Decorations may shift during shipping and bow may need to be adjusted and fluffed.
  5. Your fresh Maine balsam product has been packed tightly in its carton for shipping. The branches will need a few hours to breathe before they relax to their normal, full shape.
  6. You may notice some loose needs in the carton after unpacking. This is a natural, unavoidable occurrence called “sprilling” and is not a cause for concern.

Because our balsam wreaths are made from fresh, perishable greenery, we aren’t able to accept returns. However, we want you to absolutely love your wreath. That’s why we offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee – if your wreath arrives damaged or you’re not delighted with it, we’ll replace it or refund your purchase right away.
